After you have completed the 21 month program you become eligible to begin the certification testing process. Three sets of exams will be given in the three major FAA subject areas: General, Airframe, and Powerplant. The three exams are: computer/written, oral, and practical. All testing is done on campus.
The FAA states that all students must have 1900 hours of training before they can be eligible to take the certification exams. The class attendance record is proof to the FAA that the student has achieved the correct number of hours.
Your A&P certification allows an individual to maintain, inspect, and repair anything that flies, from drones and hot air balloons to airplanes and military jet fighters.
